Hello, my name is Gillian and I run Music Bugs classes for ages newborn to 5. It’s lovely to meet you.
Did you know? “Singing songs to your child widens their vocabulary and improves listening skills, both of which make learning to read easier” (Professor John Sloboda, Keele University)
Singing with your child is one of the most important and enriching activities that you can do and research has shown us time and again that music and singing are an excellent way to develop early language and communication skills.
At Music Bugs, we provide gently structured, play-based sessions for children aged newborn to 5 where they can develop and grow and have fun in a multi-sensory environment. Our 40 minute classes are full of fun and excitement with a large variety of fantastic props such as puppets, parachutes, pom poms, bubble machines, floaty scarves and teddies. We will sing nursery rhymes, counting songs, finger play rhymes, knee bouncers and action songs and allow you and your child to relax, have fun together and make lots of new friends!
Why not book a taster session with your child and join us for some serious fun and music making? We offer a range of family-friendly discounts for siblings, twins and childminders and can’t wait to welcome you to our classes.
Some of the lovely feedback we've received from Music Bugs parents
I’m a childminder and think that Music Bugs classes are the best there are! The mixed age group classes (Family Bugs) allow me to come along with all of my ‘mindees’ at the same time but the class leader adapts the activities and songs so that everyone can join in and benefit from the session.

Music Bugs classes are fantastic, my daughter (aged 11 months) loves her weekly session and always has a big smile on her face when we arrive. Her favourite props are the finger puppets and the bubble machine and she is now even starting to clap her hands in time to the music, trying to sing along!
