No two weeks are ever the same at Music Bugs! Our franchisees and session leaders have so many wonderful props, songs and activity ideas at their disposal, to ensure that the class is great fun every single week for both you and your child. During a typical 40-minute class, you and your child will enjoy, nursery rhymes, silly songs, knee bouncers, counting songs, body percussion, marching songs, tickling songs and so much more! Often there will be an exciting weekly theme such as ‘Jungle Adventures’, ‘Dinosaurs’, ‘Bugs and Beasties’, ‘Animal Safari’. You and your little one will also have lots of fun together with our fantastic props; too many to mention here but puppets, hobby horses, parachute games, sensory props, percussion instruments, role-play costumes, light up props and so much more! Our session leaders have so much fun planning their amazing weekly sessions and can’t wait to share the joy with you and your family.

Do you only run classes during the school term?

In many areas, session leaders run additional classes during the school holidays such as Easter and the Summer Holidays. Please check with your nearest session leader for further details.

Can I bring a younger sibling/baby to class with toddler or preschooler?

Yes, younger siblings are welcome to attend class with their older brother or sister, providing spaces are available. Do discuss this with your session leader before attending. Younger siblings under the age of 12 months are often able to attend with an older sibling free of charge.

I have twins/triplets, how will I mange in class?

We understand the extra practical challenges that come with having twins or multiples (our Company founder is a mum to twins herself), so do contact your session leader to let them know whether you have any particular needs or concerns. They’ll be able to answer questions such as “will a double pram/buggy’ fit through the door?” “Will I be able to bring another adult to help me during class?” We will hopefully be able to put your mind at ease and welcome you into class.

Make sure to also ask whether any discounts are available to parents of multiples.

Yes, you can join at any time during the term providing we have a space available for you. Please contact your session leader for further information and to check availability.

As a parent will I also benefit?

Most definitely! Many parents tell us how much they enjoy the one-to-one time with their baby and benefit from learning some lovely new songs and activities which can then also be enjoyed at home. Firm friendships are also often established in our Music Bugs classes which then continue to blossom for years to come.

Can I bring food/snacks to class?

For health and safety reasons, we ask you not to bring food or snacks into class. Some snacks can pose a choking risk or allergy risk to other children.

Will my baby or child be allowed to crawl or move around in class?

Absolutely! Our sensory class environment often proves irresistible to the babies and toddlers within our classes, and it is natural that they will want to explore. Providing your child is fully supervised and safe, it isn’t a problem at all.

Can my partner come to class with me (or a friend or family member)?

We love welcoming partners, family and friends into our classes. Occasionally, there may be a restriction on numbers depending on venue size and fire safety regulations, so please always check with your session leader first before bringing someone with you (in the majority of cases, it will be absolutely fine)

Can I breastfeed or bottle feed during class?

We support all breastfeeding mothers, and you are welcome to feed your baby during class or move to a quieter area of the venue if you prefer. Please let your session leader know if you need any help (such as a glass of water or a chair). Most of our venues also have kitchen facilities should you need to warm up a bottle. Please don’t hesitate to ask.

Bringing Your Baby To Music Bugs

Will there be a chance to get to know other parents at Baby Bugs?

Absolutely and we know how important it is for parents to have the opportunity to connect and get to know other parents (particularly in those early newborn months). Most of our Baby Bugs sessions have a scheduled ‘Sensory Time’, which provides the perfect opportunity for you to get to know other parents while your baby engages with some sensory props and instruments.

When will I know if my baby is ready to move on to the next class?

Our Music Bugs age ranges have been carefully designed to offer a degree of flexibility (for example between Baby Bugs and Mini Bugs classes). We also understand that children develop physically and socially at different rates. If you feel that your child is ready to move on (or you are concerned that they are not quite ready to move on), discuss this with your session leader who will be able to advise on the right class for your child.
