My name is Leanne and I am the Music Bugs Franchisee for Southampton, Romsey, Eastleigh and the surrounding areas.

I am a Primary School Teacher and Music Graduate of the University of Southampton and have an absolute passion for sharing my love of music.
 
There is a lot of evidence to support the idea of music being beneficial to a child's development. Don Campbell wrote in his book The Mozart Effect for Children that "Music speaks in a language that children instinctively understand".
 
I have a little boy of my own (and another on it's way!) and have seen first hand the importance of music and singing in the development of his early language and communication skills as well as his social and physical development. Children have a natural enthusiasm for music and play and I believe that, by sharing and encouraging this enthusiasm, we can give them the best possible start in life.

I am pleased to have a fantastic team of class leaders working for Music Bugs Southampton. Claire is a Mum of two herself who brought her children along to classes for a couple of years before deciding that she wanted to join the fun and excitement of Music Bugs as a Leader. She runs classes in Bitterne Park and Chandler's Ford and is available to run birthday parties. Rachel is a keen singer and loves working with children. She's a highly valued member of staff at Paulton's Park as well as Music Bugs and regularly entertains the masses there as Peppa Pig. Rachel runs classes in Romsey and Hedge End and is also available for birthday parties. Debbie is my Mum and the best admin assistant a girl could wish for! She will be answering your enquiries while I'm away on maternity leave and generally keeping the cogs turning for me.
 
At Music Bugs, we provide gently structured, play-based sessions for children from birth where they can develop, grow and have fun in a multi-sensory environment. Our 40 minute classes are full of fun and excitement with a large variety of fantastic props such as puppets, parachutes, pom poms, bubble machines, floaty scarves and teddies. We will sing nursery rhymes, counting songs, finger play rhymes, knee bouncers and action songs and allow you and your child to relax, have fun together and make lots of new friends!
