Welcome to Music Bugs - sensory music classes for babies, toddlers and preschoolers in Southampton, Eastleigh, Romsey and the surrounding areas.

Hello and a huge welcome to Music Bugs! My name is Leanne and I am the Music Bugs Franchisee for Southampton, Romsey, Eastleigh and the surrounding areas.

I am a Primary School Teacher and Music Graduate of the University of Southampton and have an absolute passion for sharing my love of music.

There is a lot of evidence to support the idea of music being beneficial to a child's development. Don Campbell wrote in his book The Mozart Effect for Children that "Music speaks in a language that children instinctively understand".

I have recently had a little boy and seen first hand the importance of music and singing in the development of his early language and communication skills as well as his social and physical development. Children have a natural enthusiasm for music and play and I believe that, by sharing and encouraging this enthusiasm, we can give them the best possible start in life.

At Music Bugs, we provide gently structured, play-based sessions for children from birth where they can develop, grow and have fun in a multi-sensory environment. Our 40 minute classes are full of fun and excitement with a large variety of fantastic props such as puppets, parachutes, pom poms, bubble machines, floaty scarves and teddies. We will sing nursery rhymes, counting songs, finger play rhymes, knee bouncers and action songs and allow you and your child to relax, have fun together and make lots of new friends!

We sing popular songs & nursery rhymes, as well as some fab new ones I've never heard of, but our favourite part is definitely the use of instruments & props! Elliott loves the tambourine & the hand & finger puppets, which really add to the fun! 40 minutes is a perfect length class for little ones & it's great value too! Term Dates

I will be taking re-enrolments for the new half term of classes which start on Monday 11th June. Change of venues for Bitterne Park classes

Next week we will be changing venues for our Monday and Wednesday classes due to Prayer week at Ascension. The Monday class will be moving to the Old Chemist on Bitterne Park Triangle (SO18 1NP) and Wednesday classes will be moving to Bitterne Park Baptist Church (SO18 1PH). Please contact Leanne if you have any questions.

New classes at Gambado, Eastleigh

Classes are now up and running at Gambado in Eastleigh on Friday mornings. You can come along for a taster session at Gambado for just £2 per family and every week you can stay and play for as long as you like after class! There are two classes (check our ‘find a class’ page for details of age ranges and times) and you MUST PRE-BOOK your taster session by contacting Leanne to guarantee your place and to qualify for free play afterwards.
