Hello! My name is Wendy and I am the Music Bugs franchisee for the Huddersfield, Barnsley and Wakefield Areas of Yorkshire.
Having tried many pre-school activities with my 4yr old son, I came across Music Bugs classes and was instantly ‘wowed’ at how different they were to any other classes we had been to! Both adult and child could join in the fun, friendly and informal 40 minute classes at their own pace – no pressure. I loved the props, songs and mixture of activities and most of all this engaged my son for the duration of the class! The added bonus was that I met lots of other mums too and to my surprise I also had a lot of fun singing songs and rhymes I thought I had long forgotten!! I have now had my second child in June 09, a little girl and can't wait to take her to a Music Bugs class too!
Coming from an Early Years background (I am a qualified Early Years Teacher - CRB checked) – I realise the importance of children learning through music and socialising with other children and how this can prepare a child for a smoother transition into the formality of their future school life. Young children learn best when they are engaged, having fun, relaxed and feeling they can achieve at their own pace – Music Bugs provides this kind of environment without the pressure of formal skills being ‘taught’, but learning precious life skills and giving them freedom of expression to be themselves along with a sense of personal achievement.
